To aide in the promotion of the latest book of “Oh-Oku Sakura“, a light novel series, the official site has added a desktop friendly illustration – and the image’s radiance of beauty makes it enjoyable, reader or not.
“Ooku no Sakura Gendai Ooku Jogakuin” is the full title of this series which, to sum up simply, surrounds modern school life within a historical themed atmosphere – with a specific focus on the “Ooku”, a famous harem of Edo Castle.
Our interest however is in this character illustration which features as the cover of the third volume – the most recent installment to soon release. There’s certainly not a detail which isn’t lavishing in respect to this female – starting around the focal point, her visage, it’s a lively smile. Her facial composition is quite novel – specifically in thanks to her eyes of a gradient burning ember orange, as well as her eyebrows which are thicker than the common standard, yet still attractive in her case, and the eyelid folds.
However, admittedly, a first glance upon this girl had immediately struck us with remembrance of Corticarte from Polyphonica – they’re in no way identical, yet the reason for this recollection is that the hair of this female is awfully reminiscent to hers. This bishoujo boasts a mane of orange red which flows outward freely and curves back in, with many strands around her following suit, indicative of her implied motion when she stopped to pose.
Her seifuku harmonically repeats an orange hue to balance with that seen in her eyes, recurring in spaced out striped patterns – and the jacket she sports atop all is a red just a bit beyond the color of her hair on the color wheel. The hue of her jacket is also seen again as the thread of her thighhigh stockings – and on that note, her stockings recur the darkened red turned neutral black substitute of her upper body apparel in a pattern alongside the sides of her legs.
Recognition is a must for her zettai ryouiki which is of an expert class – the arrangement of her fluttering skirt, in conjunction with her stockings, reveals quite a gratuitous back portion of her legs. And seeing the flavorful curved lines of her slender legs, they lead the eye to a point which is unfortunately covered in skirt – yet its the leading of the eye to an area cut off, or unexposed, which truly instigates the senses at the possibilities.
Regarding her overall appearance, her legs take the eye on a ride up to her face which then sends one back down to her legs – it’s essentially an infinite loop as she’s simply too flawless, and the desire for more is infinite.
Most of the colors present within this illustration are a mix based on red – however noticing the soft blue bow she spots on her chest, which seems to have been only ever so slightly dabbed with red as it has a violet undertone, and taking into the aforementioned golden yellow stripes, one could say she’s wearing a rather personalized triad scheme of primary variants. One should also take notice of the complementary relationship between the near-violet blue bow, and her fiery orange pupils.
As a final observation, the faded, predominantly plain white background allows the girl to contrast the canvas and radiate forward – meanwhile, the assortment of curly flora is attempting to mimic the spiraling of her hair for balance, the grand intent being to put her stunning appearance on the same level as an amiable flower. And indeed, she’s definitely rather up there and beyond.
