CLAMP’s upcoming film of the Blood-C series, “The Last Dark“, will apparently feature XXXHOLiC’s lovable protagonist as he’s been spotted within a recently released preview clip of the vampire action movie.
Watching the action overrun PV, it’s not particularly eye-catching in that it’s not much different than any other guro festival film – the defining traits are few, yet Watanuki is definetly a major one. The reaction to Blood-C may be more mixed – yet XXXHOLiC is certainly grand, even with the horrible curse of CLAMP, the abnormally oblong legs, being prevalent. And thus to see the much admired protagonist of a quite favored series, he practically makes the movie worth watching for his presence alone – effective advertising on part of CLAMP.

I loathed the CLAMP rendition of Blood but upon seeing this PV I have to agree that yes, most definitely I would watch it for Watanuki. One of the most consistently amusing characters written in anime and manga. Who knows, maybe this will be an acceptable movie after all. :)

I guess you are saying that Watanuki is the person smoking the pipe right, well he looks totally different to what he looked like in xxxHolic. We will see if he has an important role in the movie, but knowing this really makes me want to watch the movie.

If you watched the XXXHOLiC OVAs, forgot the exact name, but they come after the last TV series season, they show Watanuki almost exactly as seen here.

thats what i thought after watching him dressed like that. And it looks like i missed those ovas, now i need to look for them and everything related to xxxHolic because is been a long time since i saw it and is a pretty cool series.
