New Idolmaster Album Every Week

Apr 24, 2012 @ 23:22 CDT

In response to the ridiculous popularity and successful sales of The iDOLM@STER’s first five Cinderella Girls’ albums, its been decided that a new CD will release every week – goth loli Ranko Kanzaki leading the way.

Five albums were released for The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls’ top five most popular idols, and all five CDs effortlessly took five of ten available slots on Oricon’s top 10 singles chart – the lazy loli Anzu Futuba ranking at fourth, and the rest of the idols taking spot six through nine. As result, more albums are to come, one every week for five total weeks, making another batch of five – and the first idol to be part of this new initiative is Ranko Kanzaki, a cute occultist with quite an impressive chest considering her age of only 14 years.

At this rate, it is likely that after this set of five, another five will follow, and so on – so long as sales thrive.

There’s some obvious pocket stuffing intent behind this – the profits to be made here, given that The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls has several hundreds of idols, and millions of fans, is unimaginable. However at least it shows that when done right, CDs will sell – and the many iDOLM@STER loving otaku out there are definitely more than happy at the news of more merchandise to throw money at. Even if one isn’t intending to purchase a single of these albums however, they surely should still feel excited at this news as it means more tasteful CD cover artwork to enjoy.

The sheer expanse of The iDOLM@STER is becoming more so unbelievable with every venture to stem from it – a multitude of various game series, an anime, CDs, and all sorts of miscellaneous avenues one will simply get a headache attempting to fully list out.

It probably was already impossible, although now it’s clearer than ever – there’s no stopping these idols.

There is no stopping the iDOLM@STER Express! But with the franchise in a sense going into a mass-production mode, there could be a chance that some of these monthly CD release could experience a decrease in quality, or at least become repetitive.

From what I heard it will be a batch of five CD’s, with one revealed every week. Which would kinda make sense since releasing 1 CD a week is kind of ridiculous unless they already recorded way before the announcement.

P.S. The card seems to be edited.

You are correct about the CDs – I should have specified. Although I’m quite positive the route with them will be after this batch of five, then another five will follow, and another, and so on.

About the card, I’m not too sure – there’s so many I don’t bother keeping track. Most of the cards are pretty ridiculous to begin with.
