Those wishing for an early look at Eureka Seven AO may take interest in these pre-release images made available of its opening chapter – a sight showing that action will certainly not take long to erupt within.
These stills exhibit our leading male and female within a city devastated – it clearly looks that our hero has a task on his mind, and aside from our protagonist pair, there’s a second crew moving around the metropolitan spearheaded by some middle aged man. Of greatest interest in all of this however is the flashy turn of events seen near the end – it certainly seems that Renton’s done something which marks the true beginning of the series.
This second season of Eureka Seven sums up in a relatively interesting fashion below:
The story is set on Okinawa’s isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year-old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao’s mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao’s 13-year-old childhood friend and the story’s heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a “Yuta” power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young.
A mysterious entity called “Secret” suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. Ao launches a certain military FP called “Nirvash” aboard a Japanese military transport in his fervent desire to protect the island.
Eureka Seven AO launches April 13th – a short wait of several days till one can see what aftermath follows the original’s semi-apocalyptic conclusion.

Will I need to have seen the original (Eureka Seven) to be able to follow AO, or will I be fine without it? It seems like a good show, but I don’t want to have started an anime in its second season or sequel, and have no clue about what’s going on.

I’m pretty sure you’ll need to have seen the original to understand this one as it is rather plot heavy and starts from a point which won’t make much sense if you’re unfamiliar with the first season.

Actually original has a perfect ending. So I believe it is just another story.

You’re probably correct – I wasn’t much for Eureka Seven so I wouldn’t too helpful in respect to it.

So…watch Eureka Seven 1st, or not? I’m more confused now then before lol

You can start this one without watching the first season.

Good to know. So, as a final (confusing) check, I can watch this and follow the plot without having seen Eureka Seven? Sorry about this….

Yeah you can, and no worries – our response was pretty mixed up.
