An elemental workshop.

Released has been the first video preview of the K-Project, [K] – and without fail, it entirely engulfs any who view it into its serene realm of city endeavors, showing a highly unconventional mix of events and sounds.

When watching the PV available below, one has to think that this just might be it – this could be the very animation which introduces a new genre to our washed out current era of moe and other overused tropes. [K] showcases several individuals within a city life – and taking quite a risk considering the standard of this day and age, there’s no overabundance of moe. Yet forgetting what it doesn’t have, what [K] does deliver are sights of people going about various aspects of their eventful days and in a manner of artistry which many have longed for.

A dynamic camera follows around the characters, changing as is appropriate to provide the most aesthetically pleasing scene – and on that note, each and every second is truly immersive as intricacies have been added in to a high degree. Not a single shortcut was taken as the environment is packed with vitality in the form of colors, pedestrians, vehicles, and more – every turn of the camera showing a setting overwhelming as it feels that art has accomplished the impossible and come to life.

This is further made magnificent by the impeccable camera technique which pans and swivels into all the right places. And with such wonderful camera work, the characters of course do not let down – they move like ballet dancers, fluid and elegant with every motion, varying in pace and speed as the situation calls for it. Everything reacts as necessary when they do – their clothing flutters, accessories rivet, and surroundings readjust, all responds to the physics of their actions.

It’s not merely the visual arts which this series seems to have mastered, the PV plays out to a tune of sound serene and ringing – like a score which carries the vital signs of its characters. It is not necessarily a melody of any specific emotion – yet it speaks out confidence and satisfaction in its beats.

As for what takes place within the PV, one can see magic and martial arts, relaxing under the sun, and even a neko. Figuring what the story will be about from these few facets is no simple task – yet what one will have no trouble understanding is that this clearly is a work creative, innovative, and original. This is the breeze of fresh air the anime industry has needed and we hope to see more of it soon.

Below, the PV can be indulged in, and there’s even some fairly abstract character designs to enjoy:

Indeed, I truly hope the plot will manage to correlated with the quality of the video – as exclusively in terms of visual animation, it is beyond exceptional.

wow, this PV makes me really want to watch this as soon as possible sadly we cant appreciate the animation at its max since the video is only 360p but that doesn’t take away the fact that it looks like an anime to look up to

    • Seven says:

Yeah, I’m eager to see the first episode of this in at least 720p – it has me so eager.

Girly men fighting in the rain? It’s not hard deciphering this anime’s target demographic.

    • Seven says:

So that’s all you saw while watching? It’s not hard deciphering your interests.

    • If I may ask, what part of them is girly to you? The striking hairstyles or the way they were tearing it up like nobody’s business, mayhaps?

      • Dusk252 says:

It’s simple. They’re not Guts or Kamina, therefore they’re girly.

Anyway, my interest for this is rising. This was a pretty good preview. I hope the story can match its quality.

  • I’ll be looking forward to seeing where this series goes, indeed.
