Tasogare Otome X Amnesia Character PV

Mar 8, 2012 @ 10:10 CST

Now no more than a month away, a second clip of promptional propaganda has been released for the Dusk Maiden of Amnesia – acquainting us with all the characters in a less frightening format than before.

Unlike the previous clip, this one isn’t nearly as embedded with the sense of supernatural lingering and demonic monster girls – yet the notion of mystery remains. The video plays out a series of short moments with each character from our leading male and female, to the two less important, yet still more prominent than the rest, side-characters – all the while, a lovely theme plays which reminds us of Umineko from its first several seconds, as well as a few other select points.

However the song aside, the video doesn’t teach us much about the series – only showing us the characters who a few of us may have already seen in the key visuals. One can see that at several points, different individuals, like our leading male, have a shocked look on their face from encountering something – however what exact they see is not revealed. This isn’t too amazing however as it’s common sense there’d be some stunning revelations made within this series considering its genre and previous OP.

One significant item we do learn however, and that neither the OP prior, nor the key art showed, is that our heroine can apparently blush and feel embarrassed – considering her otherwise stoic appearance, who’d have thought she had moe inside her as well?

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia launches the 8th of this coming April, and we’re certainly awaiting it with open arms.

  • As expected of Silver Link’s visuals, we are not disappointed in the slightest; and it would seem that we might raise our hopes even beyond what we saw in C3 – by which I mean the first six episodes.

…However, there is room for concern as disappointment from the aforementioned series lingers still.

For those who follow the manga version, they know as well as we do that Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is a true ghost story, one that builds upon itself slowly but surely as its characters find a place in our hearts through every trial we see them undergo; coming to understand both themselves and one another bit by bit along the way.

Most importantly however, the finale to this story has not yet been reached, which brings us back to this point. Silver Link, as you did with C3, don’t sacrifice a good story simply for the sake of concluding a series.

    It. Just. Doesn’t. Work.

Now, as anime fans one and all, we can sympathize with your need to make a profit on whatever work you pour so much effort into. However, and you’ll pardon my language, don’t screw us over again by driving what was once a great, emotionally stirring story into the ground and expect us to fork over our hard-earned money and have you think what you’re doing is okay.

Okay? Okay, my minor rant is over now.

That aside, and with all sincerity, do your best guys. I personally am hoping for something really special here.
