Otaku have sized up the characters voiced by the highly admired Kana Hanazawa and ultimately managed to get them ranked accordingly – a list composed of the top 20 characters of a seiyuu most beloved.
One could have went about determining who deserves their vote in one of two ways – the first being to select a character who was actually played out by Kana Hanazawa with the greatest level of ability as based on whatever metric there exists for measuring such with voice acting, the second being to simply pick out whatever second dimensional female one happens to be most infatuated with. And without a need to think too deeply on this, it’s quite clear most otaku went with the latter.
Charlotte Dunois of sci-fi harem Infinite Stratos has topped the list at number one – a heroine coy in demeanor, attractive in appearance, and impressive in bra size (as many ladies of the 2-D world happen to be). Seeing as this is quite subjective a list, even more so than the usual “Top whatever” where one can at least debate various specifics such as execution and presentation or make comparisons, there’s not much else to say on the matter of who won what spot.
Most otaku who partook in this voting apparently happened to adore Charlotte the most – and that’s that.
Though interestingly, one can at least however indulge in intriguing trends of those chosen 20 – such as the fact that the top three characters of the lovely Kana Hanazawa happen to all be ones with a shy personality. Even in the case of Tenshi, who we’re not exactly sure if “shy” would be the most appropriate term to describe her, she still does not say much throughout the series of Angel Beats and is quite reserved – essentially delivering the same experience to the series as a shy character, even though she may not exactly be so herself.
Otaku seemingly have a fetish for shy characters more than any other bracket of 2-D female trope – and one could go further on to describe that this is due to the feminine qualities, and A, and B, and C, although that becomes another topic entirely, thus we move on.
Looking at the list of attractive artificial females:
1.) Charlotte Dunois (Infinite Stratos)
2.) Tenshi (Angel Beats!)
3.) Sengoku Nadeko (Bakemonogatari)
4.) Kuroneko (Ore no Imouto)
5.) Kobato (Haganai)
6.) Karuta (InuBoku SS)
7.) Tomoka Minato (Ro-Kyu-Bu!)
8.) Shiina Mayuri (Steins;Gate)
9.) Ryoko Kaminagi (Zegapain)
10.) Zessica (Aquarion EVOL)
11.) Yuuki Mikan (To Love-Ru)
12.) Anri Sonohara (Durarara!!)
13.) Kobato Hanato (Kobato)
14.) Mato Kuroi (Black Rock Shooter)
15.) Kureha Sakamachi (Mayo Chiki!)
16.) Shiori Shiomiya (Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai)
17.) Ayase Shinomiya (Guilty Crown)
18.) Shiemi Moriyama (Ao no Exorcist)
19.) Sora Kajiwara (Sketchbook ~full color’s~)
20.) Tsukimi Kurashita (Kuragehime)
Besides those top three aforementioned, the remaining 17 are a fine balance of loli and bishoujo characters from more recent and revered series (Hagnai), to a few sub-par (Ao no Exorcist), to ones which are plain atrocities against animation (Guilty Crown). Although no matter the specifics of the series they originate from, all of these characters would of course not have made this ranking without good reason – being loved a great deal by otaku in either appearance, personality, or both, but definitely in voice.
