A sample of the opening theme for Fate/Zero’s upcoming second half has streamed over the Kalafina Club radio show – and indeed, it is beauty made transposed into sound as expected of the incredible Kalafina.
Met with critical success the first time around, Kalafina’s second shot at a Fate/Zero opening theme, entitled “To The Beginning” only surpasses the first – and in more ways than one. Not merely does this theme literally have more of a supreme distinction to it, instrumentally and vocally, yet this combined change in tone makes this score sound far greater than the first opening theme Fate/Zero had adorned.
Listening to the song, it’s difficult to deny that it does have an arete uprising sense to it during the first several seconds – then moving onto a ringing of splendor, a cycle of hardship battled and won, then transition to a mood of success after much ventured. Kalafina is truly amazing in her ability to bring out emotions in sound – and this will definitely be apparent, whether an audiophile or not. It doesn’t take a jeweler to recognize gold, does it?
As if anyone needed reassurance otherwise, the conclusion to Type-Moon and Ufotable’s joint masterwork is already looking to surpass the unparalleled level of majesty which was the first run of Fate/Zero. At this point, the two aren’t even making a simple anime anymore – they’re engaging in a second tour de force of the arts to exceed their first, and surely, it’s looking it will be several generations before any can top either.
Many were rejoicing upon the news of Kalafina to compose Fate/Zero’s second opening sequence theme just as she did for the first – and now one can savor every sound wave of this preview made available below:
