Captivating Comiket Figure Showcase

Dec 29, 2011 @ 6:37 CDT

A combination of known upcoming, as well as entirely never before seen figures and concepts were being exhibited at Comiket 81 – teasing us with plans of a nendoroid for Mawaru Penguindrum’s “Princess of the Crystal”.

It’s not merely the princess however who is tantalizing us in nendoroid chibi form, a mystical butterfly winged female from soon to release sci-fi series of 2012, Accel World, can be seen attracting attention as well. In addition, there seems to be a full family of Minami-Ke chibi sized figures to come – and even some pint sized variants of MajiKoi characters as well.

Fate/Zero’s Irisviel, although unfortunately not in chibi form, can be seen on display as a rather exceptional Figma with movable joints. Unlike most Figma’s, the joints on Irisviel are well implemented within the overall design of the figure – preventing them from awkwardly standing out or diminishing the aesthetics, as is commonly seen with a good portion of Figmas. The colors are amazingly spot on – with her blouse of a deep red truly standing out, and her silvery white hair having a lavishing glow to it.

Further below, one can see several more sculpted creations of interest – flat chested Inami of Working!!, an undressed soapy Sonico with simply a bath towel, and more to our tastes, a fruity pink flavored gothic lolita. This is indeed the most colorful Kuroneko has ever been.

The final two figures are both of superb detail – yet in very much different ways. The Saber & Saber Motored Cuirassier to release in May of 2012 caters to the numerous Fate fans – showcasing a female determined and powerful with an affixed expression of one with a goal in sight. On the other hand, the final figure is a brazenly erotic sculpture which exhibits a willingly submissive female, or perhaps one who was simply caught in a very elaborate series of erotic coincidences which let up to this point.

No matter, all these figures are definitely looking great – and with each passing season, one can see the overall quality have improved just that much. And of course, if we’re shown a figure from a specific series, example being the Figma of Fate/Zero’s Irisviel, there’s a fair possibility of many more characters to come from that same series.

  • Saber & Saber Motored Cuirassier… May, 2012.

    … May, 2012.

    …… May, 2012.

    … :<

In all seriousness though, with respect to that final figure, what IS up with that "keep out" sign? …C'mon, you've gotta admit that's in rather bad taste.

That “keep out” sign indeed ruins the whole purpose of display – anyone looking at that figure close enough to notice any “interesting areas” would have been specifically looking for them from the beginning.

    Fate/Zero Berserker figure confirmed: http://i.imgur.com/b8oBb.jpg

    • Ah, I was wondering when Fate/Zero’s resident badass would be getting his own figure. Looking most awesome, as expected. ;D

A bit of curiosity about that sword he’s holding though. Does it not look a bit like a variation on Saber’s Caliburn?

Regardless, the only male figure you’ll be getting iirc, Seven. You must be excited.

      • Seven says:

Very much so – I’m definitely getting this, even if I have to set aside female figures I want to be able to afford it.

However there is a single aspect bothering me, if only they could make it emanate black residue then it would be perfect.

        • I’m not much for doubting that they could have done that if they really wanted to, though the price would likely have shot up a considerable amount for such a painstaking addition; in which case few sales… etc, etc.

          Berserker’s still awesome though.
