Character designs have been released for the enchanted female cast of the next in the extensive Pretty Cure series, “Smile PreCure!” – as if they didn’t look any different than any stereotypical mahou shoujo.
Above you can see all the girls assembled, and below, each of them individually in their arcane, as well as their regular form. As is standard with any self-respecting mahou shoujo, they’re all specific to a certain hue – blue, yellow, pink, green, and orange respectively, with neutral white serving to be the skin tone of the ever-necessary miscellaneous alien creature.
If you’re not too familiar with Pretty Cure, then you likely are also to think it to be a petty rehash of identical animation – while it is indeed just that, it’s also quite a bit more. Pretty Cure is in fact the most authentic mahou shoujo series of modern time – somehow succeeding in pulling off every single overused archetype and idea held as commonplace to a generic magical girl anime, yet doing all of that whilst concurrently offering an original and fun experience in its own way as it essentially molds traits to meet its lively plot and character personalities.
The upcoming installment, Smile PreCure!, summarizes as your usual “once upon a time” fairytale:
Once upon a time, there was a country known as Märchenland where fairy tales mingled together. However, the Evil Emperor Pierrot has invaded the country and sealed away its Queen. In order for the Queen to be revived, the Cure Décor, tokens of happiness, must be gathered. To gather them, the fairy Candy came to Earth to search for the next Pretty Cures. It’s there that Candy meets Miyuki Hoshizora and the two of them decide to gather the Cure Décor together.
Those finding themselves excited by the thought of colorful young girls will certainly love the fact that the series is set to launch on February 5th of 2012 – a mere month’s wait.
