The creatively disturbing mind of Nisio Isin shall soon bring us yet another of his avant-garde works – popular series “Medaka Box” has officially been given a green light and is now coming at full speed.
Those unfamiliar with this series, aside from the small number of you that may be, may find interest in a basic summary of the story:
In the story, Medaka Kurokami, the strongest girl in Hanokiwa Academy, leads the school’s student council. The student body can submit pleas for help, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, into the suggestion box that Medaka installed. Together with council members Zenkichi, Akune, Kikaijima, she takes on the challenges in the school that include supernatural powers and near-constant battles.
To those of you who are familiar with the series, you know that discussion has been long and tiresome over whether this fodder for beautiful, eye-catching animation would ever get the righteousness it so deserved. Be proud in that your patience has paid off whilst you happily await this affair of action-packed battles, immense clashes of power, beautiful women, and even some more comical antics.
Of course all is not well just yet. As so many of you know, even a spectacular series can be put to shame if the wrong studio gets their hands on it (Zexcs’ Itsu-Ten anyone?). Whilst some rumors have been circulating around that Gainax is a likely candidate for the Medaka Project, in the end we can only hope that the right studio is brought forth to raise Medaka Box to all of its glorious potential.
