An elemental workshop.

noitaminA’s supernatural fall thriller to be released this upcoming October [UN-GO] has finally had its very first promotional video released – if its an accurate indication, the series may prove to be amazing.

Watching the PV, the initial striking feature is the enveloping exquisite sound of piano – the music is beautiful in all respects. Accompanying it are some interesting action scenes composed of first-class visuals. We’re shown some suggested sights of murder, and also a party with a classier, 1980′s-like atmosphere.

A mesmerizingly cute “bishounen” looking like a loli, wearing a pink trimmed panda suit is the most eye-catching facet of the video – he’s the secondary lead role, and he obviously stands out due to his colorful crossdressed attire. He’s somehow related to the male main character who is a rather tall, slim fellow – essentially everyone appears to have a regal aspect to their complexion, which is only fitting considering the nature of the series.

For those who don’t know or who have forgotten:

The unconfirmed premise for the story is based on Sakaguchi Ango’s historical novel “Meiji Kaika Ango Torimonocho” written in 1950′s. Taking place in the early Meiji period, a private detective Yuki Shinjuro solves cases in Tokyo with the help of Katsu Kaishu.

With an already fantastic fall line-up, this is bound to be one of the better few – and perhaps the very best in regards to the mystery genre in general. You can check out the official PV at the corresponding official site.

That’s a boy actually. Learn to read character profile first.

Loli? LOL, sorry, that’s actually a bishounen – according to the character profile on the official site.

This is one of the shows I’m really looking forward to this fall. The loli doesn’t look like a typical tsundere too. The visual style is different and refreshing, I can’t wait to for it!

“Visual style is different and refreshing” – I agree entirely, as with anything from noitaminA, it’s very suited to its own style. This series specifically however has a nice enigmatic twist I’m certainly interesting in seeing more of.

Oh, I didn’t read the post well enough. So the ‘loli’ is actually a trap? My bad…anyway, I don’t think that takes away from the potential of this show though! I’d really like to see that ‘twist’ though…

        • Seven says:

If anything the error is on my part. I agree the show has a lot of potential – loli or no loli, it looks fantastic thus far.

I didn’t realize there was an assortment of anonymous users so picky about their lolis and shotas – do forgive me.

As I always say; Everyone is gay for Bridget! I think this situation calls for no difference =)

Perhaps I’ll check this out now that you’ve brought it to my attention yes.

In similar business, the Fall Anime that I’m most looking forward to is Persona 4 the Animation. Unlike Persona: Trinity Soul, this looks to be a faithful adaptation of the game which I enjoyed immensely, they even went as far to include the games battle cut-ins as cheesy effects. The only discord among fans I’m seeing is the protagonist’s assumed cannon name being changed from Seta Soji to Yu Narukami, in which I agree with their opinions, since Seta Soji just sounds so much cooler and more fitting to his image rather then Yu Narukami.

I can’t decide between the excellent fall line-up a single series in which I anticipate the most. Ika Musume, Working!!, Fate/Zero, even this one, and some others – a fine upcoming season indeed diverse in content.
