With the curtain falling on the current anime season, it’s time to press on and look forward to the upcoming winter season.
One particularly interesting anime we’ve on our watch list is C³ – Cube x Cursed x Curious. Interesting title, don’t you think? The following is a summary of the popular light novel series:
One day, Yachi Haruaki was sent a black cube by his father who is on a journey. The black cube is actually a cursed tool which absorbs negative feelings until it turn into human. Fia, the black cube, then live in Haruaki’s house, while Haruaki & Muramasa Konoha(also a cursed tool) teach basic knowledges for daily life to her. She is also doing good deeds in order to remove the curse on her. But Peewee Halowie, a member of curse destroyer organization, appears…
Recently released was its first anime PV.
While leaving quite a bit to the imagination in terms of story, its animation looks to be top-notch; as expected of the Silver Link company, known for its animation involvement in several reputable series such as “Bakemonogatari“, “Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko“, and “Dantalian no Shoka“.
With respect to actual anime production though, its numbers have been surprisingly few. Their works have been limited to some rather obscure titles such as “Tayutama – Kiss on my Deity” and their most recent work “Baka and Test,” which to their credit has earned itself a sequel and an OAV.
Given how C³ differs quite a bit as an anime from the above mentioned, it’s going to be interesting to see how it’s approached. We’ll hope for the best.
