Carnival Phantasm Full Of Bras & Pantsu

Aug 21, 2011 @ 15:48 CDT

Type-Moon’s meticulously hilarious Carnival Phantasm OVA series is out – bringing with it a softer, more colorful side made lush with an assortment of bras, panties, and gags at its own expense.

This is only the first of the much awaited releases – for those with little knowledge of the Type-Moon universe, they might not find much interest in this excellent array of OVAs however. Unless you are familiar with either Tsukihime, Melty Blood, or Fate/Stay, you’ll find yourself assaulted with continual ray of terrible jokes, gibberish, and idiocy – it will likely only be found funny due to how horrible it is.

What is one to receive if they are well acquainted with any or all of Type-Moon’s complicated universe? The same exact things, although considering you understand the references, the characters, and the environments – seeing our beloved heroine Saber dance around in an overly cute feminine manner is quite a treat. Fans of the adorable other females of Type-Moon’s astonishingly creative world need not worry either as this initial OVA delivers a rather fine taste of things to come.

We’re gifted with the sight of Caster’s subtly pink panties during a round of tennis with Berserker. Yet the most delicious display of eye-candy undoubtedly comes from Arcueid as Type-Moon delivers some delectable angles of her assets in standard mahou shoujo dress – alongside the nice sight of her collection of underwear.

As Shiki’s nosebleed implies, this simple series of OVAs, Carnival Phantasm, a mere single episode in is already proving to be “too good”. If this first episode is any indication, the remaining few will likewise be a mere 13 minute ordeal – although with what we have seen, those are 13 minutes well spent.

Adorable elegant loli Illyasviel serves as the host of this wonderful affair of foolishness – for this episode at least. This one had a heavier focus on Fate/Stay characters, yet Illyasviel mentioned the next to be about “Melty Blood”.

  • Carnival Phantasm…

“It transcends obligations, adult circumstances, and morals.”

It takes a certain kind of awesome and win for a series to be able to describe itself so perfectly within its own… well, whatever the hell this is. ;D

    • Seven says:

It’s made from lethal amounts of “epic” and “win”.

      • I must object. Awesome though Carnival Phantasm is, it hasn’t hit an epic level… at least not yet. We’ve gotta see the next two or three episodes before we can make that call.

        • Seven says:

Ahh how foolish of me, indeed you are correct.

Episode one was certainly superb – yet to make claims of the series as a whole, we must go through the remaining few. Although I must say I still believe this single first showing of wonderment is quite worthy of the term epic on an individual basis.
