Kami Memo – Oppai Obsessed Sarashi Theft

Jul 30, 2011 @ 17:12 CDT

Kamisama no Memochou’s fourth mystery revolves around the recurring theft of a sarashi belonging to an impressive pair of breasts – as well as a repeat uncanny customer to Min’s ramen shop.

The trouble starts as a certain customer orders ramen, takes a single sip, and leaves without a word. It turns out this fellow has visited before and is well versed in the ways of single sipping ramen and departing. This quite clearly irritates Min, prompting her to launch a campaign with Narumi, hell bent on devising some diabolically delicious ramen with the intention of pleasing this unsatisfied customer.

Although as Min is occupied in the bath and Narumi naps next to ramen, a burglar breaks in and steals a fairly unorthodox item. Narumi awakes as he hears the break in, yet it is all too late – Min rushes out of the bath in her towel to the scene of the crime to find that her sarashi had been stolen. For those otaku not knowledgeable in such Japanese dress, a sarashi is best described as a tape wrapping around one’s breasts.

The theft calls for the tactical investigative skills of the NEET detectives featuring ultra loli Alice. Min heads up to Alice’s technologically advanced office and begins to jest about Alice’s baby-like framework. Yet lolita status aside, the characters begin to speak seriously about the theft. It seems to have happened previously only some days prior to another of her sarashis.

Having her sarashis crudely stolen from her leaves Min in a position in which she has no choice but to wrap a measly cloth around her breasts, failing to suffice for the true experience of a sarashi.

Min is initially reluctant to allow the group of otaku NEET creeps to find the thief responsible as they are essentially just as weird as the thief – although Narumi shares a well said bit of inspiration “he smells your sarashi everyday”, making Min immediately rush back to Alice to formally request an investigation.

It’s concluded that there may be a relation between the thief and the unsatisfied ramen sipper as they seem to make their appearance in a pattern of sorts. Though nothing is confirmed, they keep that information in mind, and as such it begins…

Once the NEET detective crew got the word, they launched an all out analytical assault in search of the thief responsible. With all their might, incredible technology, security cameras, manpower, and loliness, they failed – unable to find out the route source of these two suspicious characters. Yet lolita genius Alice does come up with a plan after hearing about a lock Min was unwilling to change.

The plan pretty much puts Min as a piece of bathing bait – she bathes as usual whilst Narumi hides in a closet awaiting the thief. The sly serial sarashi thief makes his anticipated appearance and is taken down by a ball crafted by mad-loli Alice.

The sarashi thief turns out to be an estranged lingerie fashion store manager who is deeply troubled by the fact that Min wears a sarashi instead of a bra. Alice jumps in to state that the shaded ramen sipping bastard left the door unlocked and as such, the sarashi thief managed to easily enter. The shaded bastard is in-fact Min’s father – she seemingly has a rough relationship with him, it is implied he more or less abandoned her.

After the mystery is all finally solved, Min finds a gift left for her by her father. Min and Alice also find some wrongly delivered bras left for them by the lingerie freak as requested by the NEET detectives. Alice proves to be quite upset that hers is much too large…

It’s a great episode overall, doing much in the way of developing Min’s character and keeping a very unique style. The incident is one entirely original to this series and was very entertaining in an emotional as well as a comedic manner.
