An elemental workshop.

Yamamoto keeping it real

Director Yamamoto Yutaka has decided to leave the anime industry indefinitely as it seems pop culture has lost it’s way with him. Yamamoto had worked on several popular and high profile anime series such as Lucky Star, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Kannagi, Black Rock Shooter, and his most recent work Fractale just to name a few.

Although he had worked on some big name animes, many of them were short lived for him and resulted in no personal success. His speeches note his views on anime differ greatly from that of the mainstream however we’ve yet to see any works of that nature.

Personally, I’d like to see Yamamoto come back to the industry in a few years with an innovative heavy-hitter in the same ballpark as unique stories like Aria or Mushishi.
